My story
My name is Mathilde and I am the founder and illustrator behind Stories to Cherish.
The idea for Stories to Cherish originated after the passing of Ana, my friend who died far too young. During that period of loss, I noticed how difficult it sometimes is to find the right words for someone who is grieving. At the same time, I discovered how valuable memories are – the stories, small moments, and conversations that keep someone close.
From that experience, I started designing cards and products myself that help people share memories, initiate conversations, and offer support during difficult times. Every design still begins at my drawing table. With pencil, paint, and great care, I create illustrations that radiate warmth, comfort, and connection.
What started as a small collection for people in mourning has now grown into a broader collection of story cards and products that not only help cherish memories after a loss, but also during life. Because the most beautiful stories don't have to wait until later. It is precisely now that we can ask questions, recall memories, and capture moments that might otherwise be lost.
My mission is simple: to help people preserve stories, share memories, and create connection – at the moments that truly matter.
